A Merseyside schoolteacher was shocked when her boyfriend went down on bended knee to propose to her - in class.
Matt Pengelly surprised his girlfriend Ann Roberts by creeping into her classroom at Our Lady's Catholic primary, in Prescot.
He then asked her to marry him to the strains of Wet Wet Wet's Love Is All Around as other staff members gathered around to watch.
Miss Roberts, 23, told the Liverpool Echo: "I was just shaking, I was not expecting it at all. It was really special. This is my first class so it meant a lot to me that they took part in it."
She had no hesitation in saying "yes", describing Mr Pengelly as her "best friend".
Miss Roberts said: "I have been in and out of hospital quite a bit and he has been there all the way through. His sense of humour bounces off mine and I just know he is the one."
The couple, who first met at air cadets when they were 13, have been dating for three-and-a-half years after bumping into each other again on a night out.
Mr Pengelly, 25, said: "I wanted to do it in a way that would be special to her and I knew she loved her class to bits. She is a fantastic teacher."
