The first official press images for the Sprint version of the HTC Touch Diamond have surfaced along with confirmed information regarding specifications, and a confirmed launch date.
The device will launch with the highest level of specifcations ever seen on a Sprint branded HTC device, with Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, a VGA resolution display, EVDO Rev. A., 528 Mhz clockspeed, 256 MB of system ROM, 256 MB of RAM, Wi-Fi, and 4GB of storage memory.
This makes the Diamond the most powerful HTC device on the carrier since the PPC-6600 with the latest addition being a massive increase in battery capacity from the GSM version’s 700mAh battery to 1350 mAh, causing the device to ship with a slightly thicker battery cover to compensate for the added battery life.
The device will feature TouchFLO 3D with Sprint customizations, but is otherwise identical to TouchFLO 3D found on the GSM version. The device is now expected to launch on August 28th in the usual sales channels, which falls inline with the previously leaked roadmap that first stated a September 2nd launch.
