It’s not just the most powerful station wagon in existence, the RS6 also has the title of the most powerful production Audi ever. But it seems the folks at Motoren Technik Mayer are not satisfied until the RS6 wears the mostpowerful ‘wagon in the universe tag.
By altering the ECU alone, MTM’s engineers have coaxed 489 kW from the RS6’s 5,0-litre twin turbocharged FSI V10 powerplant accompanied by 785 N.m of twist. The claimed zero to 100 km/h sprint? That would be 3,9 seconds. If this sounds a little too mild for you, then find solace in the fact that this is just the starter pack.
The next level is to add a stainless steel exhaust system with throttle control and a sports air filter, resulting is an organ compressing 528 kW – which is more than a Ferrari Enzo. The price? Lets just say that its R100 000 for that extra 100 kW and 130 N.m.
Given its subtle styling cues, MTM has raised the RS6’s posing game by fitting a carbon-fiber front spoiler lip and carbon-fiber rear diffuser. To finish off the overall product, MTM fitted 21-inch bimoto wheels in the fenders, behind which are hidden six-piston monoblock calipers, slotted brake discs and sport dampers. The starting price in Europe for the complete tuning package is roughly R170 000. Perfect for those who need to shift some antique furniture…whilst evading a Traffic Department liveried fighter jet.
